📋 Key Legislation on the Agenda
GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act)
Passed the Senate on June 17, 2025 with bipartisan support (68–30).
Sets a regulatory framework for payment stablecoins: issuers must hold one-to-one liquid reserves, undergo audits, limit interest-bearing use, and comply with AML rules.
Requires non-bank issuers above $10 billion in issuance to get licenses from the federal OCC; smaller issuers retain state/federal licensing options.
If approved by the House, it goes directly to President Trump for signature.
