Trump has finally gotten his way.
According to the British "Guardian," on July 10, Trump stated: In the future, the U.S. will provide weapons to Ukraine through NATO, with 100% of the costs covered by NATO. The U.S., NATO, and Ukraine have signed a "new agreement on U.S. arms supply."
Trump's clever plan is: 1) Ukraine submits a list of weapons to the U.S. as needed; 2) The U.S. provides weapons to NATO based on the list; 3) NATO pays the U.S. for the weapons; 4) NATO supplies weapons to Ukraine.
It is worth noting that under Trump's pressure, member countries have just raised their military spending to 5% of their GDP, and Trump seized the opportunity to "shift the blame." This not only gives Ukraine face but also earns money for NATO countries.
