WHY IS IT NOT SAID "THE BITCOIN"?
Saying "the Bitcoin" is technically incorrect from a linguistic and conceptual point of view.
Bitcoin is a proper name that designates both the decentralized network and the computer protocol, just as we say "Internet" and not "the Internet".
The confusion arises from the fact that in Italian we tend to associate the definite article with traditional currencies ("the euro", "the dollar").
However, Bitcoin is not simply a currency, but a complete system that includes the blockchain, the software, and the peer-to-peer network.
When we talk about individual monetary units, we can say "a bitcoin" (lowercase) to indicate the amount, but the system as a whole remains "Bitcoin" (uppercase) without an article.
This distinction is not just a matter of style: it reflects the innovative nature of Bitcoin as a technological ecosystem that transcends the simple definition of money.
Using the correct form "Bitcoin" demonstrates a deeper understanding of this revolutionary technology..
