The result? The Yemenis received a priceless gift of live sheep!

A livestock ship carrying thousands of sheep capsized in the Red Sea, prompting a courageous rescue effort by local fishermen who raced to save as many animals as possible from drowning. According to Al Jazeera, the cargo vessel was heading to Djibouti when it capsized.

Despite a frantic rescue effort led by local fishermen, more than 160 sheep tragically drowned in the incident. A viral video shared by the Daily Mail shows several small boats scrambling to save the scattered animals from the open sea. As the footage continues, the capsized cargo ship appears upside down, with many sheep still trapped inside the partially submerged vessel. Many sheep can be seen swimming through the rough water.

Sharing the video, Daily Mail wrote, “Yemenis were forced to spring into action to rescue hundreds of sheep from the Red Sea after a commercial ship ran aground.”
