The U.S. Federal Reserve Releases Minutes of Its Latest Meeting
The U.S. Federal Reserve has released the minutes of its most recent meeting, during which the committee decided to keep interest rates unchanged at 4.5%, despite the slowdown in inflation and intense pressure from President Donald Trump, who has persistently called for rate cuts and launched repeated attacks on Fed Chair Jerome Powell.
Several Fed members believed that the current interest rate is not significantly above the neutral level.
All committee members agreed that maintaining the interest rate at its current level was the correct decision.
The members emphasized that while the risks of rising inflation and labor market weakness have diminished, they still remain and could escalate.
