Veteran investors share some hard truths
Recently, I've been asked a lot: Can we still play in the crypto space? Can we still enter the market?
As a veteran investor who has been around since 2017, today I'll discuss the current situation without any fluff, and point out a clear path for those who want to enter👇
1. You can play, but don’t fantasize about "getting rich with your eyes closed"
First, the conclusion: The crypto space is still viable, but it’s no longer an era where everyone can just sit back and earn. Now is the "era of differentiation"—the gap between those who can make money and those who can’t is widening.
In the past, you could buy Shiba or Dogecoin with your eyes closed and see multiples in returns? That’s basically gone. Now, to make money, it relies on information gaps, strategy, and execution.
Why? Because the market has changed—previously led by retail investors, it is now a battlefield for institutions and funds. Your opponent could be a full-time on-chain analyst, an arbitrage team, or even an AI robot…
So, if you still want to use the "strategies from the last bull market" to navigate the current market? You’re likely to stumble.
2. Whether you can earn, mindset is more important than vision
Don’t think that the crypto space is just about "picking the right coins"; the key is: mindset + rhythm control.
Veteran investors have three consensus points, remember:
✅ Don’t aim to earn the last segment, don’t be greedy in the first segment—eating meat in the middle is the way;
✅ Volatility is the norm, explosive rallies are exceptions—opportunities are "guarded" not "charged";
✅ Don’t be carried away by FOMO—what you see as "others getting rich" may be years of preparation behind it.
3. Opportunities are still there, but the crypto space has changed
It’s not that you can’t play anymore, but it has transformed from a "rich pasture" to a "competitive arena for experts".
Still approaching with the mindset from 2019 or 2021? You’ll just get hurt worse. But if you’re willing to calm down, research, build strategies, and optimize your understanding? The crypto space still has potential.
Finally, here are a few suggestions:
⚠️ Don’t heavily invest in one bet, don’t easily trust KOLs, don’t chase prices up and down;
📚 Learn more about on-chain operations, look at the data yourself;
💡 Most importantly: Don’t chase trends, control your positions well—staying alive is more important than anything else.
