Old Trump and Little Powell are at it again⚠️⚠️⚠️
Trump once again blasted Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, stating that if he misled Congress, he should "immediately resign." He accused Powell of deceiving Congress regarding the renovation issues at the Federal Reserve headquarters and criticized him for refusing to lower interest rates.
During Tuesday's cabinet meeting, Trump bluntly stated that Powell is "terrible," and told the media that if Powell indeed deceived Congress about the renovation issues at the Federal Reserve headquarters, he should immediately step down, saying, "Then he should resign immediately... We need someone willing to lower interest rates to replace him."
When a reporter asked Trump if he supports congressional Republicans investigating Powell's statements regarding the Federal Reserve building renovations, Trump replied, "I have no objection; I think he's terrible."
Subsequently, Trump accused Powell on social media of "whining like a baby for months, complaining about nonexistent inflation, and refusing to do the right thing."
Trump wrote: "Lower interest rates immediately, Jerome (Powell) — now is the time!"
