This tariff adjustment involves eight major categories of household appliances and related products, including dishwashers, washing machines, and refrigerators. The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has added these eight categories as "steel derivative products" and imposed a uniform 50% tariff. This is the second time the Trump administration has expanded the scope of tariffs to derivative products, following the 25% tariff on imported steel and aluminum imposed in March of this year.
