In a series of posts, Musk revealed how his new American Party plans to dismantle the 'one-party system' of the USA — in his understanding, the intertwined interests of Democrats and Republicans in Washington.
He compared his strategy to the actions of Epaminondas at Leuctra — the one who once shattered the myth of Sparta's invincibility. Then, a pinpoint strike on a key point of the front worked. Musk offers the same, but on the political field: not a diluted campaign across the country, but a surgical attack — on 2-3 seats in the Senate and 8-10 districts in the House of Representatives.
The goal is to obtain that very 'golden share', the decisive vote in situations where the forces of the two giants (D and R) in Congress are roughly equal.
💡 The strategy sounds smart: instead of an expensive nationwide campaign — strike accurately and economically. However, it will only work if Musk's party bites off mandates from both the Democrats and the Republicans simultaneously.
If she takes votes only from the right (which is more likely), the Democrats will simply gain a majority, and the newcomers from the American Party along with the Republicans will remain in opposition.
In short: Epaminondas had to not only come up with an unconventional plan but also to accurately guess the moment. Musk will have to do the same — only in Washington and with a much more capricious army: American voters.
