⚠️ Seed Phrase Honeypot Scam — Stay Alert! 👛 This is a tricky scam that fools people into thinking they’ve found free crypto — but ends with their own money being stolen. 🚨 Here’s how the scam works: 1. A seed phrase (private wallet backup words) is shared in a Telegram group, Twitter post, or some random website. 2. You see a screenshot showing a wallet full of tokens worth a lot of money. It looks like someone made a mistake and accidentally shared their wallet backup. 3. Curious people think they got lucky. They import the seed phrase into MetaMask or another crypto wallet app. 4. They see the wallet is real — it shows thousands of dollars in tokens! 5. But… when they try to send the tokens to their own wallet, it won’t work because there’s no ETH (Ethereum) in the wallet to pay the gas fee. 6. So they send a small amount of ETH to cover the gas fee. 7. That’s when the trap is triggered. A bot is watching the wallet non-stop. As soon as ETH arrives, it quickly sends all the tokens and ETH to the scammer’s wallet — before the user can do anything. --- 😱 Why does this happen? The scammer owns the wallet. The token balance you see is fake or worthless — it’s bait to lure victims. Some tokens might even be fake coins or locked LP tokens that look valuable but can’t be sold. --- 🚫 Never trust leaked seed phrases! Ask yourself: “If this wallet really has thousands of dollars, why hasn’t the owner moved the funds already?” The answer: It’s a setup. You are the one being targeted. --- ✅ Protect yourself: Never use random seed phrases from the internet. If it looks too good to be true — it is.
