š„ Wildfire Devastates Over 70,000 Acres in California
A massive wildfire in Central California has scorched more than 70,000 acres, an area slightly smaller than the entire island of Malta ,as of July 4, making it the largest wildfire in the state so far in 2025. Dubbed the Madre Fire, it ignited on July 2 in San Luis Obispo County and spread rapidly due to scorching heatāwith temperatures near 100°Fāand strong winds up to 40 mph.
