Among the recently suspended regulations are several affecting the H-2A visa program for temporary agricultural workers, approved last year by the government of former President Joe Biden (2021-2025). The regulation required measures such as the use of seat belts, prohibiting contractors from confiscating workers' documents such as their passports and visas, and protected these foreign workers' right to join a union, among others.
