#TrumpVsMusk Elon Musk proposes creating a new political party that serves the “true will of the people”
After criticizing the legislative agenda of President Donald Trump, Elon Musk proposed the creation of a new political party. Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if they want to break away from the bipartisan system (some would say unipartisan),” the former official of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE, for its acronym in English) posted on X, along with the following poll: “Should we create the America Party?”.
In another post, he added: “One way to achieve this would be to focus on only 2 or 3 Senate seats and between 8 and 10 House districts. Given the narrow legislative margins, that would be enough to have the deciding vote on controversial laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people.” Previously, Musk had said he would start forming a new party if the “crazy spending bill” was approved. “Our country needs an alternative to the Democratic-Republican uniparty so that people truly have a voice.” During Musk's tenure, the department was responsible for making decisions about the funding of the U.S. government, aiming to reduce spending, a goal that, according to the richest man in the world, is contrary to what the One Big Beautiful Bill proposes.
