Bitcoin miners faced a major productivity hit in June, with output declining by an average of 7.5% due to weather-related power curtailments across North America.

🔋 Core Scientific, one of the top mining firms, reported the steepest drop — down from 1,218 BTC in May to 1,030 BTC in June, largely due to energy-saving shutdowns triggered by excessive summer heat.

🌐 Other major miners affected include:

Marathon Digital: Production dropped to 590 BTC, from 616 BTC.

Riot Platforms: Fell to 255 BTC, citing power credit benefits during grid shutdowns.

Cipher Mining: Reported 295 BTC production — only slightly affected.

🌡️ Extreme heatwaves, especially in Texas, forced miners to power down operations to support regional energy grids, creating temporary supply shocks in Bitcoin production.

📉 While Bitcoin's network hashrate remained resilient, these operational slowdowns highlight how climate and power infrastructure are becoming crucial factors in mining economics.
