Your Spotify knows your soul, Gmail hides your secrets, your browser history records all your late-night secrets, but what about your AI?

It initiates every conversation as if it just met you, while tech giants keep your data in separate vaults, each company guarding your data like a digital dragon. Because of this, your AI feels like a brilliant amnesiac - powerful yet completely unaware of your true identity.

We built Kinic to solve both problems simultaneously: a tamper-proof bridge allowing AI to access your dispersed digital life while giving you control over everything. Think Plaid, but for the AI revolution. Your data, your AI, your rules are finally here.

Date Night

Imagine this: you're planning a date night and want something special. You spend hours browsing hidden food lists in your city, food blogs recommended by friends, reading reviews of newly opened cocktail bars, Instagram posts about rooftop restaurants, and social media posts about romantic restaurants at a certain price point. After sifting through thirty tags, your brain is exhausted, and you've already forgotten half of what you've read.

Now you seek help from an LLM chatbot, but the problem arises: this LLM bot knows nothing about your research. It can't see that underground bar you’ve bookmarked, the dietary restrictions mentioned in that blog post, or the three different sources warning that trendy bar has an hour wait. So its suggestions are as generic as anyone else’s - completely ignoring the context you’ve just gathered from thirty different websites.

You ultimately end up copying and pasting some snippets into the chat, trying to recreate your research, 'There’s a place called…', 'I read somewhere that…', 'Can you compare these three options I found…', which is exhausting. You’re doing the work of connecting information while the AI just responds to fragments.

This is entirely backwards. You should be able to browse these sites, absorb all the information into your personal memory bank, and then ask, 'Given the context, what’s the best date spot tonight?' Your AI should already know which places have craft cocktail underground bars, which offer city views, and which meet your noise level and price requirements.

But what's really interesting is: what if your AI could also understand your partner's preferences? Perhaps they've been browsing vegetarian restaurants recently or mentioned excitement about a newly opened jazz club in a group chat. Traditional AI tools cannot do that - each user operates independently, with no intersection of contexts.

Traditional SaaS solutions will only create another centralized data island, requiring both parties to upload data to another company’s servers. The breakthrough is that data storage is owned by users, encrypted, and can be selectively shared. Your research on dating locations, your partner’s dietary preferences, and your schedules - all can be accessible to AI while still being controlled by you personally.

This is not a distant future - this is what Kinic is building: browsing, absorbing, querying, sharing context in a cryptographic manner. Your research results will instantly become AI memory, and you can precisely control what is shared and with whom.

Modern AI lacks context, and it's not its fault - it's struggling with digital amnesia, forced to start every conversation from scratch, while your actual research and context are trapped in browser tabs and bookmarks.

This is the core problem Kinic addresses. Just as Plaid revolutionized fintech by building a secure bridge between banks and applications, Kinic is constructing a foundational layer that connects AI with distributed digital life. It’s not just an AI tool; it’s a pipeline for achieving genuinely personalized AI.

This difference is profound. What you receive is not generic replies but AI that can understand your thought patterns. You do not need to start from zero; you can achieve continuity across conversations, projects, and platforms. You do not have to hand over your data to companies, but rather, you unlock the AI future people have always dreamed of while retaining ownership.

This is not just about providing stronger autocomplete features or smarter recommendations. When AI can access all the contextual information you provide - understanding your communication style from emails, your aesthetic preferences from bookmarks, and your work patterns from calendar data - it becomes not just a calculator, but a cognitive amplifier.

The infrastructure exists, the technology is working, and for the first time in history, you can own the keys to your AI memory.

The technology to achieve this goal.

The hallmark of revolutionary infrastructure is that it seems impossible until someone builds it, and then it suddenly becomes obvious. We spent a year building the tech stack to make user-controlled AI memory truly work - this is not a theoretical white paper but code you can download today.

Your personal vector database, everywhere.

Its foundation is our WASM-based vector database, entirely running on the ICP blockchain. Imagine: no need to trust any central server, no worry about third-party databases being breached. Your memories will live forever, protected by WebAuthn biometric technology - your fingerprint will unlock your AI’s understanding of you.

Miracles happen when you visit any website or check emails. Our Chrome extension absorbs content, vectorizes it locally in your browser, and stores it in your personal data repository. Do you have bookmarks from 2019 that sparked your current startup idea? Your AI will remember email threads where you brainstormed management concepts? Indexed and searchable.

Portable vector format means this context can follow you across all AI models. GPT, Claude, Gemini - they can all become intelligent regarding your specific situation, but they won’t hold your data hostage.

Zero-knowledge machine learning.

But this is where things start to get crazy. We use advanced cryptographic techniques to allow trustless interactions between data storages. A16Z research released a special technology called JOLT, a virtual machine that allows us to perform verifiable computations on any program at incredible speeds. It uses a special technique called lookup - perfect for nonlinear functions appearing in AI.

We modified the JOLT prover to enable scalable zero-knowledge machine learning, and then we combined it with the memory-efficient folding scheme pioneered by Microsoft Research and other great institutions, creating protocols for lookup and verification - ideally suited for ML workloads. This is now a special prover in our Nova-based prover network, a technology of significant importance in many respects - but it requires in-depth discussion.

This means in practice: your AI can verify programs using your data without revealing the specifics of that data. Imagine that AI agents can verify they understand your preferences through encryption, enabling trustless collaboration between different AI systems while protecting your actual information privacy. This is essential for personal dating scenarios and equally vital for business-to-business interactions.

Privacy-first architecture.

Our WASM zkVM adopts a folding scheme based on the latest privacy-preserving research, supporting proof aggregation. Unlike other zkVMs that consider privacy afterward, we designed our scheme for privacy from the ground up. Multi-folding support means we can efficiently aggregate proofs.

Here’s how the full stack works: Browser-based vector database captures context → Memory-efficient ZKP proves understanding → Quick zkML supports AI reasoning → On-chain verification ensures tamper-proof operations → You control everything with an encryption key.

This is Plaid-level infrastructure, but aimed at the AI revolution. Unlike current AI memory solutions that require trust in centralized providers, it actually follows the original intent of the internet: decentralized, user-controlled, and cryptographically verifiable.

We’ve launched a Chrome extension, come try it out! Early users have already started building applications and using it for unexpected functionalities!

The dragons are coming! This requires blockchain.

Traditional tech folks need to hear an unsettling truth: you cannot build an 'AI memory version of Plaid' using the centralized architecture that Plaid once succeeded with; its fundamental economic principles simply don't work.

The trust issue is a matter of survival. When Plaid connects your bank account to Mint, the worst-case scenario is financial fraud - serious, but manageable. When an AI memory platform connects your browser history, emails, location data, and private conversations from every application you use, a data breach can jeopardize not just your financial safety but your entire digital identity. No matter how many security audits you conduct, users will not trust a centralized company to provide such intimate data access.

Competitive moat issue. Traditional SaaS companies build a moat through data network effects - the more users, the better the service everyone receives. But AI memory is inherently personalized; your browsing patterns won’t improve my AI assistant but will enhance yours. Centralized AI memory companies have no defensible moat because their value doesn't compound across users - it compounds internally over time.

Platform risk issue. Any centralized AI memory solution poses an existential threat to major platforms. Google, Apple, Meta - they profit by controlling user data and context. They will never integrate with solutions that commoditize their core competitive advantages. Centralized 'AI grids' will be cut off from data sources or replicated and stifled by big tech companies.

Regulatory impossibilities. GDPR, CCPA, and the forthcoming wave of AI regulations require users to have ownership and portability of personal data. A centralized company collecting sensitive behavioral data across platforms will inevitably face a compliance nightmare. Smart contracts give users encrypted control over their own data? This is not only technically superior but also the only architecture that can withstand regulatory scrutiny.

Why are smart contracts so important? User-controlled smart contracts can solve all these issues simultaneously. Users trust the system because they hold the keys. There’s no central server to hack or subpoena. Platforms cannot stifle what they cannot control, and their technical architecture aligns with the direction of regulatory development, rather than the past.

This is not a cryptographic ideology, but a market reality.

The memory revolution starts now.

This is not about building another AI tool, but rather about constructing a foundational layer that allows every AI tool to truly provide intelligence for you. Companies that understand this shift - that AI memory must be controlled by users to be genuinely valuable - will hold the foundational infrastructure for the next generation of computing platforms.

Your data will never be hijacked, and your AI will never forget. We are at a unique technological crossroads where multiple transformations converge: AI models are evolving but are plagued by digital amnesia; personal data is surging yet remains isolated; privacy regulations demand user ownership, despite a lack of necessary infrastructure.

Kinic is not just addressing current challenges; we are building infrastructure for the upcoming AI-native world. In the future, every application will have an AI assistant, every interaction will generate context, and every decision will receive enhancement from machine intelligence. Control over the memory layer will be crucial.

Early signs have already emerged. Our recently released development API and Chrome extension showcase surprising adoption patterns. Users are not just saving bookmarks; they are developing research workflows, creating shared knowledge bases, and conducting due diligence. Tasks that used to take weeks can now be completed in hours. The speed of use case emergence exceeds expectations, indicating that demand for this infrastructure has long existed.

Competitive advantages have already formed. Every piece of absorbed data, every stored context vector, and every generated cryptographic proof enhances the network's value to individual users. This transcends traditional network effects; it is a more powerful dynamic, a personalized AI based on your behavior over months that competitors cannot replicate from scratch tomorrow.

The window of opportunity is narrow. While big tech companies recognize this impending shift, their existing platforms will be architecturally constrained. They will eventually connect to Kinic's decentralized memory storage.

Your data should not be captured, your AI should not forget, and your dating plans should not be disrupted.
