Why Is Every New Cryptocurrency Compared to Bitcoin?
I don’t understand why every new cryptocurrency is immediately compared to Bitcoin, as if it’s a direct competitor. Supporters often claim these new coins will generate billions — but in reality, these are just illusions sold to traders.
Bitcoin didn’t start out as a powerhouse. It began as a simple idea, then built its reputation through a brilliant and secure cryptographic system. It earned its place organically, without any direct interference from its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Its strength lies in its technology and the community that supported it over the years.
The notion that a new coin can suddenly emerge out of nowhere and rival Bitcoin — which has reached a point where some governments allocate budgets specifically for its mining — is, quite frankly, laughable. It would take decades of development, adoption, and trust to even come close to such status.
Perhaps, by the time the last Bitcoin is mined, the world will be in need of a successor. But until then, these comparisons remain nothing more than unrealistic wishful thinking.
