India's power spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari stated that after the examples of the USA and Bhutan, his country should also develop a national Bitcoin (BTC) strategy.
Bhandari emphasized that India should not miss the new trends in global economic balances and called for the testing of an official reserve policy for Bitcoin. According to the spokesperson, the steps taken by countries adopting different strategic approaches like the USA and Bhutan serve as important examples for India as well.
Pointing out the importance of government support for the cryptocurrency ecosystem, Bhandari also highlighted Bitcoin's potential to become a global reserve currency. The spokesperson argued that it would be a significant strategic mistake for India to fall behind in Bitcoin.
There are strategic advantages that India could gain by creating a national Bitcoin reserve. Developments such as the USA increasing its influence in international markets through its reserve strategy and Bhutan utilizing its energy resources for Bitcoin mining indicate that India could strengthen its economic independence by undertaking similar initiatives.
Bhandari's call is interpreted as a turning point in India's cryptocurrency policies.
