BlockBeats reported on June 26 that a British man has been charged with operating under the alias 'IntelBroker' on a cybercrime forum and has been indicted for allegedly selling stolen data, causing losses of over $25 million.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced the indictment of Kai West. It is alleged that West engaged in illegal activities on the dark web under the alias IntelBroker, resulting in losses of over $25 million for the victims.

West conspired with a cyber gang known as CyberNers* to steal data from multiple companies, including a telecommunications company, a municipal healthcare provider, an internet service provider, and more than 40 other businesses.

According to the indictment, an undercover law enforcement officer sent a direct message to 'IntelBroker' seeking to purchase a victim's data for $250 worth of Bitcoin (BTC). The counterpart provided an address belonging to West, and after payment was completed, they delivered the data, which allegedly included three administrator-level usernames and passwords. West and his online accomplices had listed this illegally obtained data for sale at a price exceeding $2 million. He was subsequently arrested in France this February, and the U.S. is currently seeking to extradite him.
