Data: The cryptocurrency holdings of Russians exceed 25.4 billion USD
According to reports from Hash World, Vasily Girya, CEO of GIS Mining, an operator of data centers for miners, stated at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) that the total value of cryptocurrency assets held by Russian citizens and institutions is expected to exceed 2 trillion rubles (approximately 25.4 billion USD) by the first half of 2025. Data shows that under energy advantages and policy support, institutional investors in the country are continuously expanding their Bitcoin mining orders, and industrial-scale mining facilities are rapidly expanding. Analysts point out that this growth reflects Russia's view of cryptocurrency assets as a strategic investment category, reinforcing its global mining position through low-cost electricity. Despite fluctuations in the international regulatory environment, Russian institutions remain optimistic about the long-term return potential of digital assets, with major financial groups systematically increasing their allocations to cryptocurrency assets.
