Eventually, monetary use cases will price out JPGs-on-chain use cases. If you don't believe this, you lack faith.

Knots is just Bitcoin Core with some customizations and different defaults. Luke did not write it from scratch. It can hardly be considered a different implementation. The closest to truly ground-up reimplementations are things like libbitcoin or btcd.

Had we not wasted all that time and squandered all the goodwill in the block size wars, we would already have OP_CTV and OP_CSFS and possibly other nice op codes.

I would much rather stay out of this, but I do have to say the following: I think spamming the Bitcoin blockchain with NFTs is dumb. I think many of the people doing it are either dumb or malicious. Yet, I defend everyone's right to use the blockchain as they wish as long as they do not violate consensus rules, and I believe that attempts to police it that rely on anything other than built-in incentives and self-interest are deluded at best and even more harmful than the NFTs at worst. Either way, starting flame wars on Twitter is hardly helpful. It is exhausting having to deal with this negativity. Many great developers have gotten burnt out over this, and quite a few have left. This is FAR more harmful to Bitcoin than someone putting cat pics on the blockchain.
