Binance Coin (BNB) is the native token of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. Introduced in 2017, BNB was initially created to offer users discounts on trading fees. Since then, its role has expanded significantly across the Binance ecosystem.
Today, BNB serves multiple purposes, including:
Receiving trading fee discounts on Binance
Participating in token launches via Binance Launchpad
Paying for goods and services at select retailers
Powering decentralized applications and smart contracts on the BNB Chain
With a maximum supply capped at 200 million, BNB becomes more scarce over time. Binance also conducts regular BNB burns, permanently removing coins from circulation to help support the token's value as demand rises.
