Donald Trump is back on Truth Social, this time slamming Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. He’s angry that interest rates haven’t been cut and says lowering them to 1–2% could save the U.S. around $1 trillion a year.
Trump didn’t hold back—he called Powell a “dumb guy” and blamed President Biden for keeping him in charge. He also admitted he's tried being polite, neutral, and even harsh with Powell—and now, he's hinting that firing him could be an option if Trump returns to the White House.
With inflation cooling and Trump saying the economy is doing great, he argues there's no reason to keep interest rates high.
