WalletConnect acts as an intermediary protocol that creates secure, decentralized, and encrypted connections between the user's electronic wallet and decentralized applications (dApps). Instead of requiring users to log in with a traditional account or enter a private key, WalletConnect uses a QR code or deep link to establish the connection.

The specific operating mechanism is as follows:
Step 1 – Initiate connection: When users access a DApp (for example, Uniswap), they will select the “Connect Wallet” method and choose WalletConnect.
Step 2 – Scan QR code: The DApp will display a QR code representing the connection session. Users with a WalletConnect-integrated wallet (such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com…) will scan this code.
Step 3 – Approval: After scanning, users will receive a notification in their wallet to confirm the connection. Once agreed, the connection will be encrypted and established.
Step 4 – Communication and transaction processing: All transaction requests from the DApp will be sent to the wallet via the secure connection. Users confirm each transaction directly within the wallet, ensuring no unintended actions occur.
