A few weeks ago, I tried WalletConnect and found it really handy. I connected my wallet to a dApp by scanning a QR code, and it was ready in seconds. I'm not an expert in cryptocurrencies, but it was so easy to use. It doesn't ask for private keys, so it feels secure.

🔒

. Why I like it

It's open-source, which means the community can review the code, generating trust. Knowing that my private keys remain secure is a huge advantage. Impressive statistics.

I read that WalletConnect has: 221M+ connections

🚀

600+ supported wallets

40,000+ supported projects

4.1M active users in 2024 (a 137% increase!)

The WCT token

Launched on Binance Launchpool in April 2025, with 40M tokens (4% of the total) for those who staked BNB, FDUSD, or USDC. It is trading at ~0.38$, with a high of 1.35$. It is an ERC-20 token on Optimism, used for governance and staking.

Quick guide to using it

Go to a dApp (for example, PancakeSwap) and click on 'Connect wallet.'

Select WalletConnect; a QR code will appear.

Open your wallet (like Trust Wallet), go to the WalletConnect section, and scan the QR code.

Approve the connection in your wallet.

Done! You can interact with the dApp, but manually approve each transaction.

Disconnect when you're done for added security.
