How many people are waiting for a bid pullback to short?

Often, huge profits come with great risks, and the market makers are not fools. Before each drop, they often force over 90% of retail investors to stop-loss and exit. Going short at the current price with a funding rate of negative 1.5 is not a very wise idea, right? They probably need to push for a new high before going short. I think it's still relatively safe; entering now is just fuel. Just holding the position is fine. The funding rate has already taken a big hit.
