The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a lawsuit to recover over $225.3 million in cryptocurrency seized by the U.S. Secret Service as part of an investigation into 'pig butchering.' This term refers to investment fraud schemes where victims are encouraged to successively increase their investments in a project.
According to the lawsuit, more than 400 people were affected. Victims lost millions of dollars. The seized funds will be used to compensate the victims' losses.
