The coin is made of 900 gold alloy and weighs 15.5 g

The National Bank of Ukraine sells a commemorative gold coin with a face value of 200 UAH, dedicated to Taras Shevchenko. It is available in the online store of the National Bank.

The coin is made of 900 gold alloy and weighs 15.5 g. Its official value is 80,828 UAH. The collectible edition is strictly limited – no more than four coins may be purchased by one person.

The design of the coin combines historical and cultural motifs. The obverse features a small State Emblem of Ukraine, decorative elements of viburnum, the denomination, and the year of minting – 1996. The reverse is adorned with a portrait of Taras Shevchenko, his facsimile signature, as well as a scene from 'Kobzar': a blind musician sits near the house with a boy, embodying the theme of passing knowledge and culture to the next generations.

Experts note the high artistic value and investment attractiveness of this coin, especially considering the limited number of available specimens.

Let us remind you that earlier the National Bank of Ukraine released a new commemorative coin 'Easter Joy. Pysanka', which is shaped like a traditional Ukrainian pysanka.

The National Bank of Ukraine also minted a new commemorative coin called 'Hold the Line!'. The coin is dedicated to the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers defending the Motherland in all the hottest spots on the front.
