$USDC

💳 Shopify, Coinbase and Stripe launch payments in USDC — the mass adoption of stablecoins has begun!

One of the largest e-commerce platforms — Shopify — integrates payment in the stablecoin USDC 💵 in collaboration with Coinbase and Stripe.

📍 What this means:

— Sellers from 34 countries will be able to accept payments in USDC through Shopify Payments and Shop Pay

— Hundreds of crypto wallets are supported

— Guest checkout is available

— Sellers can withdraw funds in fiat or in USDC — without currency fees

— The entire infrastructure is built on the Base network from Coinbase

🔥 The transaction volume in USDC already exceeds $1 trillion per month, and Shopify is betting on it as a global digital “trading unit.”

🧩 But behind the scenes — interesting:

While Shopify is implementing a ready-made solution, Walmart and Amazon are exploring the possibility of issuing their own stablecoins. But…

⚖️ The GENIUS Act, recently passed by the Senate, may prohibit non-financial companies (such as Amazon and Walmart) from issuing their own stablecoins.

📢 Walmart is already lobbying for amendments to the GENIUS Act — the goal: to reduce reliance on Visa/Mastercard and lower retail costs through their own digital currency.

🚀 What’s next?

If the law passes in its current form, Shopify and Coinbase will gain a significant advantage.
