Meta Pool was attacked, but the hacker only managed to steal $132,000 despite minting nearly $27 million worth of mpETH. Due to low liquidity and a quick smart contract pause, further damage was avoided. The hacker exploited a vulnerability in the fast unstake feature and drained 52.5 ETH from Ethereum and Optimism pools. Meta Pool pledged to reimburse users and will release a full report within two days. All staked ETH remains safe with SSV Network validators. The mpETH contract is currently paused.
