Vietnam has maintained a cautious and largely restrictive stance towards cryptocurrencies. While the use and issuance of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies as a means of payment are prohibited, possession and trading are not explicitly illegal. The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has consistently reiterated that cryptocurrencies are not legal currencies and has warned about the risks associated with their investment and trading.
