As miners cope with rising network hash rates and energy prices, the average cost of mining a single Bitcoin in the second quarter is estimated to have climbed to over $70,000.

According to a report released on Monday by Bitcoin mining research firm TheMinerMag, the median production cost of Bitcoin has risen from $52,000 in the last quarter of 2024 to $64,000 in the first quarter of 2025, with Bitcoin priced at $107,111. This cost is expected to grow by more than 9% in the second quarter.

TheMinerMag stated in its May/June industry update: "Direct production costs are expected to exceed $70,000 this quarter."
