The attackers demanded a €50,000 ransom, however, upon discovering that the blogger did not have that kind of money, they released him. The influencer, who has 40,000 followers, was kidnapped on the night from Friday to Saturday while returning home to Essonne. Four men forced him to get into a stolen Renault Clio. This incident is part of a series of attacks on cryptocurrency holders in France, where attackers use a 'wrench attack for $5' tactic — threats instead of complex hacks. In early June, the police arrested the alleged organizers of such kidnappings.
