You've enabled 2FA, used a hardware wallet, and checked SSL certificates before each connection... well done!

But in Web3 security, traps are never just technical: they are also psychological, communal, and social. Here are 5 little-discussed mistakes that could blow up your entire ecosystem – even if you think you've locked everything down.

1️⃣ Total trust in a 'friend' or mentor

You're on a Discord or Telegram, and someone gives you a link to join 'an exclusive airdrop' or a 'safare launch'?

Caution: one small scam link mistake, and you lose right from the connection.

🔒 Golden rule: Always verify a link through official channels (website, Twitter, or certified link). And never allow access to your wallet just because 'it comes from a friend'.

2️⃣ Reusing seed phrases between wallets

Do you use your same Ledger recovery phrase on a modded version of MetaMask 'mobilesiege'?

If this version is compromised, everyone has access to it.

✅ Use a seed phrase per wallet / usage: trading, airdrop/testnet, vault.

If a wallet is compromised, you don't lose everything.

3️⃣ Phishing via voice chat or voice commands

Discord, Telegram voice... Hackers may ask you to announce your seed phrase 'for debug' or 'setup' via call.

📋 Reminder: never share personal information or seed if you don't control everything. Vincent will never ask you for your seed.

4️⃣ Copied smart contracts / fork scams

Do you want to interact with a new token, a farm in version X or V2?

Often, these are misleading forks of the real smart contract, creating a barely visible honeypot. If you click 'approve', you give everything to the scam.

🔍 Tip:

  • Copy the contract directly from official GitHub repos or Etherscan/BSCSCAN verification page

  • Check the signature + number of approvals of the contract at source

5️⃣ Over-attachment to unverified tokenomics

You're aiming for a promising farm '1000% APR', but the team is anonymous and the tokenomics is vague?

Very often, there's an exit-scam in the days that follow when the phase is over.

✅ ALWAYS inspect:

  • Unlocks (via tokenunlock.app)

  • Team share

  • Big holders (> 5%)

  • Locked liquidity

✅ In summary: Web3 security is never just technical

... it's alsoyour vigilance, emotional neutrality, and community common sense.

Getting hacked is not just a matter of passwords. It's sometimesa trusted friend, amodified version of a wallet, or atoo flattering tokenomics.
