can any big traditional or web2 brand just make a brand coin?

i think the answer is 99% of these guys will not be successful in doing it.

there are extremely few cases where an individual or corporation has come from *outside* web3 and been successful *in* web3.

this is because most of them don't care about crypto and simply coming in for the cash grab, and by now most crypto people are fully aware of it.

unironically, projects that are truly crypto-native by crypto-native founders tend to be the ones that are most successful, particularly ones which bring some sort of "fight the system" narrative.

if XYZ traditional drinks brand came and did a brand coin, would $REKT holders suddenly feel the urge to switch? probably not, because people are in $REKT for the underdog story and for the chance to make it to the big leagues.

it's easy to say "let's just make a brand coin" or any coin for that matter, but fostering a loyal community and earning its trust happens over many years in crypto, regardless of how big your company is.
