Metaplanet Issues US$210 Million Bond to Increase Bitcoin

Metaplanet Inc has issued its 18th series bond worth US$210 million on Monday (16/06). The proceeds from this issuance will be fully allocated to increase the company's Bitcoin (BTC) holdings.

This bond will not provide interest to its holders and will be fully redeemed at face value by the end of this year.

However, the bondholder, EVO FUND, may request early redemption with a minimum of five business days' notice.

“This bond is not secured and does not use collateral,” explained Metaplanet in its official statement.

On the other hand, Metaplanet management stated that this corporate action is not expected to have a significant impact on the financial statements. However, the company is ready to provide updates if any material impact on its financial performance arises.
