#VietnamCryptoPolicy Vietnam has made significant progress in formalizing its cryptocurrency policy. On June 14, 2025, the National Assembly approved the Digital Technology Law, which will come into effect on January 1, 2026. This law officially recognizes cryptocurrencies and digital assets, classifying them as 'crypto assets' and 'virtual assets,' distinct from traditional financial instruments such as securities and fiat currencies. The law also requires compliance with international standards in cybersecurity and anti-money laundering (AML) practices, aligning with the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
