The reports in the news sites about Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz and also the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are a catastrophe by all standards if they actually happen. This would cause a paralysis of the global economy and a collapse of markets because most of the world's oil needs pass through these two straits. This would lead to a record increase in oil prices, resulting in a rise in the prices of goods and services, and pushing the global economy into an unprecedented recession. Looking at these data, there are two directions and no third option.
