According to SIPRI, in 2025 the number of nuclear warheads has reached approximately 12,241 for the first time since the post-Cold War era, with an active arsenal of 9,614 units. The USA and Russia lead (~5,400 and ~5,200 respectively), while China adds about 100 new warheads each year.
