Why I Don’t Use Stop-Losses – And Why You Might Rethink Them Too
Stop-losses are widely used in trading, but in my experience, they often cause premature exits — just before the market turns in your favor.
Here’s my approach instead:
✅ I set take-profit targets only
✅ I trade with small position sizes
✅ I stay calm and disciplined, not emotional
Example:
If I have $1000, I might open a short with just $100. Even if the trade goes against me, a minor 2–3% drawdown is tolerable — especially in an overbought market. No need for a tight stop-loss that cuts me out early.
🔍 Technical indicators can fail. Markets are emotional and often irrational. That’s why I prioritize risk control over chart patterns.
If you’re trading for excitement, maybe a casino is a better fit. But if you’re serious, patience and clarity beat panic and auto-stops.
