The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they launched a large-scale airstrike against nuclear and military targets in Iran, which they defined as a preventive and precise offensive based on high-quality intelligence. According to the IDF, dozens of fighter jets bombed multiple facilities in different areas of the Persian country.

The action was authorized by the Israeli government as a direct response to what it considers a continuous aggression from the Iranian regime and the advancement of its nuclear program.

The Israeli army's statement accuses Iran of being behind all attacks suffered by Israel since the beginning of the "Iron Swords" war, including missile launches and support for the Hamas group in the massacre of October 7. Furthermore, it warns that Tehran is closer than ever to obtaining a nuclear weapon, which poses an existential threat to Israel and a serious risk to global security.

Authorities requested the Israeli population to carefully follow the instructions from the Home Front Command, which will be updated according to the evolution of the situation. "Act calmly and responsibly," urged the statement, which assures that both the army and the competent authorities are prepared "for a wide range of defensive and offensive scenarios."

The IDF maintains that the attack responds to "years of direct and indirect terror campaign" from Iran against Israel, channeled through its regional militias. During this conflict, Iran even attacked Israeli territory directly on two occasions, launching "hundreds of missiles"
