Federal Police dismantles crypto pyramid that stole R$ 50 million from 400 investors
The Federal Police executed a preventive arrest warrant against the main partner of the investigated company; others are still being sought.
The Federal Police launched Operation Luxus this Thursday (12) to investigate a possible financial pyramid scheme that culminated in fraud and money laundering involving investments in cryptocurrencies. According to the Federal Police, the scheme may have caused losses of up to R$ 50 million to at least 400 victims.
According to a statement from the Federal Police, 12 search and seizure warrants are being executed in Ponta Grossa, Paraná. The targets are the residences of the partners, financial operators, and beneficiaries of the scheme. So far, a preventive arrest warrant has been executed against the main partner of the investigated company, and a vehicle seizure warrant has been executed in Curitiba.
