#TrumpTariffs President Donald Trump told reporters on Wednesday that he will send letters to trade partners indicating unilateral tariff rates within the next week or two.

"At some point, we will simply be sending out letters. And I think you understand that by saying this is a deal, you can either accept it or reject it," the president said at the Kennedy Center in Washington.

Shortly after the introduction of new high tariffs that shook the markets, Trump announced a suspension of his harshest tariffs, which expires on July 9. However, his latest comment only adds to the uncertainty about what may happen next as the deadline approaches.

Earlier on Wednesday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Congress that it is "very likely" that the tariff pause will be extended for countries negotiating with the administration in good faith.
