The US Senate votes to adopt the stablecoin bill.
Yesterday, a procedural vote was held on the GENIUS bill aimed at regulating stablecoins.
68 votes in favor and 30 against were cast, so the law will soon move to the final stage, where another vote will take place for its full adoption.
The GENIUS law stipulates that dollar-pegged stablecoins must be backed by reserves equivalent to the US dollar, such as in short-term government securities.
