#NasdaqETFUpdate Love Despite the Distance

When Irina and Woodford McClellan got married, they had no idea it would take another eleven years before they would be together again. In 1972, Irina was working in Moscow at a certain institute and it was there that she met Professor McClellan. They fell in love and two years later, in May, they got married. However, in August, Woodford's visa expired, and he had to leave the country and return home.

Woodford attempted to visit his wife several times, but he was denied entry into the country. For unknown reasons, Irina was also forbidden to leave the country. They celebrated their anniversaries with postcards, photographs, and phone calls. It was not until eleven years later that Irina finally received permission to move to the United States. Her husband, whom she had not seen for more than a decade, welcomed her at Baltimore airport in 1986 with open arms. The story was captured by reporters and Irina also immortalized it in her book Eleven Years of Fighting for My Husband and Freedom.
