🚀 Metaplanet's stock skyrockets thanks to $5.4 billion Bitcoin purchase plan
Metaplanet's (Japan) stock surged over 12% on June 9, after the company announced plans to raise $5.4 billion to purchase Bitcoin. During the session, shares at one point rose by as much as 22%, reaching a peak of 1,641 yen (~$11.36).
Previously, on June 6, Metaplanet announced it would raise its Bitcoin holding target to 210,000 BTC by the end of 2027, ten times its previous plan (21,000 BTC), indicating its ambition to become one of the largest Bitcoin holders in Asia.
