Wu said that according to a report by Bloomberg, the U.S. Department of Justice on Monday requested the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to extend the stay of a previous ruling made by a lower court on May 28 that invalidated tariffs. The government stated that this ruling undermines the president's ability to execute foreign policy. The Federal Circuit Court can now rule at any time on whether to stay the order during the appeal process, which could last for months. The U.S. government also stated that if the appeals court lifts the current stay, it will appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
