Senior U.S. and Chinese officials will meet in London on Monday for talks aimed at resolving the serious trade dispute between the two superpowers, which in recent weeks has gone beyond mutual tariffs and has shifted to the control of exports of goods and components crucial to global supply chains.

At an undisclosed location in London, both parties will seek to return to a preliminary agreement reached last month in Geneva, which temporarily eased tensions between Washington and Beijing and provided relief to investors, who have suffered for months due to a series of tariff provisions from U.S. President Donald Trump since he returned to the White House in January.
