He referred to Federal Reserve Chair Powell as a "deserving gentleman," accusing him of supporting high interest rates, which has led to a loss of national wealth in the U.S. and increased borrowing costs for the federal government.

Trump believes that if the Federal Reserve lowers interest rates, the U.S. will be able to significantly reduce both long-term and short-term interest rates on emergency debt, and that there is currently no inflationary pressure; even if inflation resurfaces, it can be controlled by raising interest rates.
