$DOGE Receives full access to Social Security data from the U.S. Supreme Court.

A divided Supreme Court on June 6 ruled that DOGE could have full access to the data of millions of Americans held by the U.S. Social Security Administration. The three liberal justices of the court - Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson - dissented from that decision.

The court stayed an order issued by U.S. District Judge Ellen Hollander of Maryland that blocked DOGE from obtaining broad access to the data immediately, which includes Social Security numbers, medical and mental health information, tax return information, and citizenship records.

Judge Hollander stated that DOGE was invading the personal affairs of millions of Americans in a fishing expedition based on little more than suspicions. She limited DOGE's access to the information while the courts assessed the legality of the Trump administration's actions.

However, the majority of the justices presiding over the Supreme Court hearings stated in a brief unsigned decision that access was justified now because it is likely that the courts will decide that DOGE could have the information.
