According to a narration, Family, Wealth, and Deeds are like that person who has three (3) brothers. When the time of his death approaches, he calls all three of his brothers and talks to them:

First Brother: Family

He says to the first brother, "You are seeing my condition; tell me what can you do for me?" He replies, "I can take care of you for now, staying with you to fulfill your needs and requirements, and when you pass away, I will give you a ritual bath and shroud you, and together with others, I will carry out your funeral prayer, sometimes I will shoulder you and sometimes another person. When I return (after burying you), I will only speak of your goodness in front of anyone who asks about you."

This brother is indeed the Family of that person. After saying this, the Noble Messenger (Sallallahu Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam) asked the Companions (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum), "What do you think about this?" They replied, "We do not find any goodness in this."

Second Brother: Wealth

After this, he said, "Then he says to his second brother: You are also seeing my condition, what can you do for me?" He replies, "I will support you as long as you are alive. Once you depart from this world, our paths will diverge because you will reach the grave and I will remain here in this world."

These brothers are actually the Wealth of that person. What do you think about this? The Companions of the Prophet (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum) said, "O Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam), we do not consider this good either."

Third Brother: Deeds

The Noble Messenger (Sallallahu Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam) further said, "Then that person says to his third brother: Surely you are also seeing my condition and you have heard the responses regarding my Family and Wealth, tell me what can you do for me?" He comforts him by saying, "My brother, I will be with you even in the grave and will protect you from loneliness and fear, and when the Day of Accountability comes, I will sit in your Scale of Deeds and make it heavy."

This is his Deeds. What do you think about this? The Companions of the Prophet (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum) said, "O Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam), this is indeed a very good friend." The Noble Messenger (Sallallahu Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam) said, "This is the reality."
